A Lesson From the Trail

3/99 Taylorsville Reserve

"So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness:"

Rev 17:3

Day Hike

Went for a hike at Taylorsville Reserve today.  It was a nasty day and threatened rain the whole time.  I took my umbrella in the hopes that it would.  It did.  The wind blew the rain almost horizontally.  The umbrella worked OK but I'd hate to be in the middle of nowhere in a killer storm.

I listened to the climax of The Climb by Anatoli Boukreev.  What a story!  Listening to that story made my weather seem tame.

It was a good strenuous hike that made me hurt the next day.  Good day for thinking.  I hiked the north west shore trail to the end and hiked down the road to Charleston Falls, hiked all of Charleston Falls and came back.

Total Miles: 11
