"Blackhand Gorge"                       "A Very Tenacious Tree"

Today I drove over to Culombus to go barefoot hiking with a club I joined called The Central Ohio Barefoot Hikers.  The creator of the club is Greg Morgan and he and I were the only two able to make this bi-monthly hike.

We decided to go hike the Blackhand Gorge about 45 minutes from Columbus.  The gorge gets it's name from blackhand prints left in area caves by the Indians that once inhabited the area.  These caves were blasted and destroyed by accident when the railroad tracks were built through the gorge.  Progress!  The trail itself is only about 2 1/2 miles long but is a real joy to hike, especially barefoot.

It had a great combination of textures for the tootsies. =)  Oh God, did I actually just say "tootsies"?  I had a great time meeting Greg and spending the day out barefoot.  We went to Wendy's for lunch before the hike and went into the restaurant barefoot without any problems.  We also pasted the Longenburger Basket's world HQ on the way there.  I had Greg stop so I could take pictures.                        basketbuilding.jpg (121360 bytes)

I look forward to more hikes with the COBHs in the future.
