A Lesson From the Trail

Trip Reports and Journals

"The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report makes the bones fat."

Prov 15:30

I never really intended to post my personal trail journal on this web site but when I read back on the trips I've done I can see how much I have learned from my mistakes and my experiences.  This does not mean that there is any real learning information here but these are my thought and feelings while out on the trail and someone may end up saying, "Gee, that doesn't just happen to me?" or "Wow I feel the same way when that happens."

I find it hard to write a personal trail journal and then write a trip report too.  They always end up becoming one in the same and it muddies the waters.  In the future I will make an effort to actually write things down as they come up and write a separate trip report of my trips.

Some of the things you read here may seam very weird or unlike me (to those who may know me) but these are just the scattered thoughts and observations I have when out on the trail.  Most of the journal entries were written as they happened on the trail but in places they were done in retrospect.  I may from time to time interject an afterthought into my journals.  If I do they will appear in [brackets] and in red.  some of my entries are pretty extensive so I have made each trip a separate link.

These are by far, not the whole of my hikes.  There are many day hikes crammed in that don't really have any purpose or insights and therefore don't have an entry.  In the future I plan to try and be better about writing while on all hikes.
